November 15th: Tour of Charles Durand’s new dream facility for all his cars and other memorabilia, 4797 Hereford Farm Road, Evans, GA 30809. We’ll meet at Charles’ at 11:00 AM on the 15th, spend a little time oohing and aahing over his new storage/display facility and then convoy to Sonic at 4436 Washington Road, Evans, GA (across from super Walmart) for lunch. Depending on the number of cars we have at Charles, we will probably have to park some of them at the Evans Middle School, which is only a 400-500 yard walk.
November 18th: Monthly meeting at Fox Appliance. 7 PM Last chance to sign up for the December 9th Christmas Party.
December 6th: Grovetown Christmas Parade. Line up time from 7:30 to 9:15 at the Grovetown campus of Augusta Technical College. Candy is welcome. Parade starts at 10 AM.
December 7th, Jackson, SC Christmas Parade. Lineup will begin at 1 PM behind the Jackson Middle School. Parade starts at 2 PM. All entries must be decorated and should enter at FOREMAN Street. Meet at Kay McIver’s (192 McElmurray Farm Road) for delicious snacks after the parade.
December 9th: Annual GaSCar Christmas Party at First Baptist Church, Augusta. Cost of the meal is $40.00 with your choice of prime rib or chicken. Deadline to sign up and pay is November 18th at our monthly meeting. As usual, door prize donations are welcome. If you can’t pay in person, please send your check and meal selections prior to the November 18th deadline to Sue Wilkes, 5444 Meadowlark Lane, Grovetown, GA 30813
December 13th: Parade starts at 6 PM. This is a twilight/night time parade. The best way to Harlem is head straight down Gordon Highway. For GaSCar participants, please meet at 5:00 PM at DG Market 180 E. Milledgeville Road, Harlem, GA 30814. From there, we will convoy as a group to Harlem City Park. James Thomas will have our passes for the Parade. The PARADE WILL BEGIN PROMPTLY AT 6: PM.
Parade participants are allowed to Hand candy to the Parade onlookers. Throwing candy directly at the crowd of onlookers is no longer permitted. This is a SAFETY REQUIREMENT as they do not want children running directly into the street. There are many children in the crowd of onlookers. For their safety and yours, please be sure to be aware of your surroundings throughout the parade. This parade is being held at night and it will be dark outside.
